Human Creativity is Our Advantage to Thrive with Artificial Intelligence

Human creativity is our advantage to succeed in the world with artificial intelligence, writes Peter Watson.

The concern for many is if artificial intelligence will make humans obsolete.

It sure feels that way for some people.

We have smart phones and artificial intelligence. The tools we use in modern day life are advancing at a very fast pace. Relatively speaking, we as humans are not evolving.

It is understandable why some of us are wondering if we are being left behind. A key concern is that technology advancements will take our jobs and our ability to earn an income to support ourselves.

There is another more optimistic perspective. Albert Einstein once said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge; knowledge is limited; imagination encircles the world.”

We can all agree that AI knows a lot of facts. Those facts result in AI being able to ace high level professional examinations. Our human strategy for success is to use our imagination to our advantage.

We have done that successfully for millions of years. Humans are not the fastest or strongest species on the planet, but we are the head of the food chain.

During the period of our evolution, you might have thought that strength and speed of competing mammals would have resulted in us being extinct. Perhaps without our imagination and our ability to think, humans would not have remained on planet earth.

AI is a modern-day tool. I think we can all agree advanced technology will change things. Our challenge is to use human imagination and creativity to use that change to our advantage.

Harness modern tools to make your life better for work, play and relaxation.
