A message to all students ready to attend university or will be in the coming years — this is your chance to build your foundation for a successful career.
For many, there is an opportunity ahead. There are many areas that are advancing, and those industries need a steady flow of young talent that has a strong qualification to fill jobs in the future.
A new study commissioned by the Council of Ontario Universities stated: “A wide range of Ontario’s critical sectors will require a steady pipeline of university graduates.”
Think of how the labour force is developing.
Many current workers will retire, and they need to be replaced, plus there are new and expanding areas.
Areas including science, technology and math will need qualified graduates. The health care sector must expand to care for an expanding aging population.
If you are the right person at the right time and you have the necessary qualifications for our future economy, your skills will be in demand.
There are two sides to this opportunity. For some, academic challenges to achieve a university degree will be high. Then career planning and getting a job can be difficult.
Most things in life take some personal initiative and yes sometimes a struggle. Welcome to the real world.
But securing a financially stable future will allow you to have a house, start a family, and that is worth fighting for.
